There are several ways to buy your ticket:Rail ticket

From the guard when you board at any unstaffed station (most East Suffolk Line stations are not staffed).

Ticket machines at Lowestoft, Beccles, Halesworth, Saxmundham, Woodbridge, Ipswich, and Felixstowe station.

Online and collect at any self-serve ticket machine or have your tickets posted to you (please allow up to five days by post before you travel).

Smart Phone using a free app from Greater Anglia or The Trainline from the iTunes App Store or Google Play Store to purchase a mobile ticket; no paper ticket required (except for Peak time tickets to Liverpool Sreet which can still be bought on the app but a paper ticket must be collected at a ticket machine); buy your ticket as late as 3 minutes before departure. Anglia Plus tickets are not available via the smarthpone app.

Explore East Anglia with Anglia Plus. From 08.45 weekdays, and anytime at the weekend and bank holidays, the Anglia Plus rover ticket allows unrestricted travel on all East Suffolk Lines trains Ipswich - Lowestoft and Ipswich Felixstowe. Your Anglia Plus ticket also includes all trains to Norwich, Great Yarmouth, Sheringham, Ely, Cambridge, and all stations in between. It allows you unlimited stops all day for just £18.50; three day passes are only £36.20, and you can pick any three days within a seven day period. Up to four children can travel with you for only £2 each. Use your Railcard to save even more.

Anglia Plus Season Tickets are also available for one week, one month and one year. The start date can be any day. You can also choose from three zones: Suffolk, Norfolk, or Cambridgeshire.

Anglia Plus

Advanced booking is not necessary; buy your tickets on the day you travel at any staffed station, or on the train at any unstaffed station. Bring your bicycle at no additional charge. Bicycle reservations are recommended as each train has space for up to four bicycles. More information is at the Greater Anglia website.

You can also use Anglia Plus on the following services on weekdays that depart before 08.45 between Saxmundham and Ipswich: Saxmundham 08.17, Wickham Market 8.27, Melton 8.34, Woodbridge 8.39.

Your Anglia Plus ticket also includes free bus travel on these services:

  • Ipswich Station - any direct service to Ipswich Town Centre using First Eastern Counties or Ipswich Buses, and any direct service to Ipswich Hospital (Heath Road) or Ransomes Industrial Estate using using Ipswich Buses.
  • Derby Rd (Ipswich) Station - any direct service to Ipswich Town Centre using First Eastern Counties or Ipswich Buses, and any direct service to Ipswich Hospital (Heath Road) or Ransomes Industrial Estate using using Ipswich Buses.
  • Great Yarmouth Station - any direct service the town centre or beach operated by Anglian Coaches.
  • Norwich - any First Eastern Counties bus (except Park & Ride services).
  • Bury St. Edmunds - on the "Breeze" town services operated by Stephensons.

Group SaveGroupSave is a special ticket which allows between three and nine people to travel and get one-third off right across the entire Greater Anglia network, including the East Suffolk Lines.

For example, three people can travel for the price of two. Nine people can travel for the price of six. There's no need to book ahead, just show up and go. GroupSave tickets are only valid with off-peak ticket types and certain restrictions apply.

National Railcards

Get 1/3 off rail fares with these Railcards. 

 

  • Young Persons Railcard 1/3 off rail fares for anyone aged 16 - 25.
  • Senior Railcard 1/3 off rail fares for anyone 60 or over.
  • Family and Friends Railcard 1/3 off rail fares for up to 4 adults, and 60% off for up to 4 kids between 5 and 15. Two adults can be named on the same card so when one cardholder isn't travelling the other one still can.
  • Two Together Railcard 1/3 off rail fares for you and your companion.  
  • Disabled Persons Railcard 1/3 off rail fares for disabled people.
